Cleanings & Exams

For proper oral health, regular exams and professional cleanings are essential. Even if you brush and floss your teeth as recommended at home, there are areas of your mouth that may only be reached and thoroughly cleaned with the help of your dental hygienist. With our special tools, we can carefully remove plaque and tartar from your teeth, and polish them as well!

  • Plaque turns to tartar in just 24 hours and becomes firmly attached to the teeth, making it difficult to remove.
  • When these substances remain on the teeth, they can cause decay and gum disease.

Our team will pay special attention to the condition of your gums and teeth during your visit and provide feedback on how to maintain great dental health. Our examination will determine whether you need any further treatment or confirm that your smile is in great shape!

3D Cone Beam X-rays

Our office utilizes state-of-the-art technology to ensure you are truly receiving the best experience. As oral health professionals, we believe it is our job to continue growing and learning so that we may adopt new technology or equipment to improve our patient’s experience.

3D cone beam x-rays are quick and accurate radiographic machines that produce lightning-fast imaging of your entire jawbone, along with the crown and root of each individual tooth. As the scan produces 3-dimensional imagining, we are able to observe your x-ray from multiple angles and positions, allowing us to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your oral health. 3D cone beam x-rays are helpful in many ways, especially used in our office for the following:

  • Discovering impacted teeth
  • Seeing each tooth’s exact placement & position
  • Deciding on the placement location of implants
  • Assessing jawbone health & density
  • Diagnosing the presence of abnormal growths & diseases

Crowns

Dental crowns are restorations used to reestablish the strength and health of a badly fractured or decayed tooth. The crown allows the original, vulnerable tooth to be saved and preserved, eliminating the need for tooth removal.

  • Once a tooth has been severely damaged, it will usually require a root canal to eliminate the existence of any infection or bacteria compromising the internal tooth structure.
  • The tooth is encapsulated with a crown, offering protection against further damage and allowing the tooth to remain firmly in place within the socket.

Crowns are built to match the exact shade, shape, and size of neighboring teeth, allowing them to seamlessly blend in upon placement. The durable materials present resistance to cracking, chipping, and breaking so that the tooth can continue to function as normal.

Tooth Extractions

The extraction of a tooth is reserved as a service used only for the better health of our patients; our team does everything possible to save a tooth and eliminate the need for an extraction, but in some cases, it is truly necessary and beneficial. Some of these cases include:

  • Impacted wisdom teeth
  • Overcrowding
  • Unrepairable damage or decay
  • Advanced gum disease

While our goal is always to save our patient’s natural teeth, sometimes it is better for the tooth to be removed to relieve pain and promote health. Once a tooth is removed, we offer multiple options that can replace the appearance and function of the lost tooth. Call our office today to discuss these options in preparation for your extraction!

Laser Dentistry

By utilizing a laser in dental treatment, patients report their procedures being more pleasant than traditional methods; they find the laser to make their visit more comfortable, much faster, and remarkably painless. The use of a laser eliminates the need for drills, scalpels, and sutures, making treatments more relaxing for patients while also promoting a faster recovery time.

The laser works by bonding with light energy to perform precise, gentle removal of tooth decay. Because the tool is so accurate, it is possible to preserve a much larger percentage of the healthy tooth than by using a drill.

Night Guard (Teeth Grinding)

Do you grind your teeth? Oftentimes, this is a problem discovered during your routine appointment at the dentist. Our team is trained to identify the signs of teeth grinding in our patients; worn down, chipped, fractured, or dull smiles are all indicative signs of the habit. While it may seem that the condition only impacts the appearance of your teeth, it has many other consequences as well. This may include:

  • Headaches
  • Enamel degradation
  • Loosened teeth
  • Gum recession

The persistence of teeth grinding may also lead to an inflammatory response of your temporomandibular joint (TMJ); this joint acts as a hinge between your skull and jaw bone. Once it becomes inflamed, it may cause your jaw to pop, ache, and feel tense in a condition known as temporomandibular joint dysfunction(TMD). The condition may also contribute to continual teeth grinding.

Fortunately, all of these problems can be addressed by the use of a night guard.

  • A night guard is an oral appliance made from acrylic or plastic; they are custom built to fit over your teeth and prevent contact or friction between your upper and lower arch.
  • Simply wear them at night, or whenever you notice yourself grinding your teeth, and you will have dependable protection against further damage.
