Why do you enjoy the dental profession? I’m able to not just solve people’s dental problems and maintain their health, but I’m also able to cultivate relationships.
What is your favorite part about interacting with patients? I’m passionate about getting to know patients beyond their dental health – their interests, hobbies and activities. Being able to see patients multiple times a year on a regular basis allows me to stay in touch with people in our community!
Why do you like this practice and coming to work every day? I believe in customized treatment plans for each patient, not the one-size-fits-all approach that you may find elsewhere.
What do you do outside of the office for fun or as a hobby? I am an avid sports fan — if you didn’t know the score of last night’s game, you’ll probably hear about it while you’re in the office (Go Huskies!). I also enjoy golfing, skiing, and taking in the occasional rock concert.
Where were you born/raised? Born and raised in Olympia and I have always called Western Washington home.
Pets and Family: Married with two sons, Cameron and Carter. We have a cat and 2 dogs.

Why do you enjoy the dental profession? I entered dentistry because I, myself, had bad dental experiences both as a child and as an adult and I want to minimize the pain and anxiety associated with coming to the dentist. I believe you shouldn’t have to wait to get the smile you deserve and live with dental pain because your previous bad experiences and/or anxiety prevents you from coming to the dentist. My mission is to get patients as comfortable as they can be in the dental chair so they get the best care they can without fear and anxiety.
What is your favorite part about interacting with patients? Getting to know them and hearing about their life stories.

What do you do outside of the office for fun or as a hobby? Typically I workout everyday, run 2 miles and lift. Weekends usually me and my Fiance go Kayaking and/or hiking. After graduation, I served in the Navy for four years, where I attended a general dental residency at Great Lakes Naval Station, with an emphasis in Endodontics and Oral Surgery. Why do you enjoy the dental profession? Dentistry is the perfect mix of medicine and art. I love helping change the way people see themselves through their smile. I especially enjoy cosmetic dentistry, getting to help patients achieve their perfect smiles, and performing root canals, providing a stress-free experience while eliminating pain and infection.
What is your favorite part about interacting with patients? I enjoy helping people achieve their oral health goals. It is my mission to be transparent and honest. Patients are ultimately in charge of their own dental care. I’m here to notify you of any potential issues or concerns that I may see and help you solve them. I pride myself on providing honest feedback and thorough explanation of issues through pictures and x-rays, and leave the decision up to you to move forward. I give multiple treatment options and let each patient decide on a treatment plan that best suits their specific needs. There is never pressure for you to proceed with treatment you’re not comfortable with.
What do you do outside of the office for fun or as a hobby? I love action sports and am always looking for a chance to snowboard, mountain bike, hike or wakeboard. If I am not outside, I am usually eating; my husband is an amazing cook.

Why do you enjoy the dental profession? What I like about being a dentist is that I get to use my artistic skills to help my patients achieve their best smiles. Every case is different and I like being challenged every day.
What is your favorite part about interacting with patients? Most people are scared of going to a dentist. Trust me, so am I! Since I know how uncomfortable it can get seeing a dentist, I always try to put myself into my patients’ shoes and perform a procedure in the most gentle way possible. I love how my patients who were scared and worried initially said the procedures were not as painful. It is very rewarding to see a sign of progress in my patients and these interactions motivate me to become a better dentist.

What do you do outside of the office for fun or as a hobby? My hometown, Seoul, is close to mountain trails and beautiful beaches, which is what the Pacific Northwest offers as well. I love to try a new hiking trail in my free time. I also love traveling and exploring new restaurants.

What year did you join the current practice and/or group? I was temping here in January, then became officially full-time in the beginning of February.
Why do you enjoy the dental profession? I love building relationships with patients and getting to know them; it’s my favorite part of the job. I also enjoy educating patients and helping them love their smile. Growing up, my mom worked at our dental office so I have always loved being in the office.
What is your favorite part about interacting with patients? Getting to know them more personally rather than just surface level and building a connection.
Why do you like this practice and coming to work every day? I love the environment here. Everyone is very friendly and we get along great. We work really well together and teamwork is huge between us. I also really love my patients!
What do you do outside of the office for fun or as a hobby? I LOVE traveling; it is my favorite thing to do. I also really like the outdoors and am always looking for something to do outdoors. Fitness has been a passion of mine for a long time, so if I’m not on vacation or at work you’ll usually find me in the gym!

Why do you enjoy the dental profession?: I’ve always loved the aesthetic side of dentistry – providing someone with even just a little bit more confidence in their smile is hugely rewarding.
What is your favorite part about interacting with patients?: This is probably my most favorite part of the job – connecting with, and gaining the patient’s trust. This is something I take a lot of pride in. All too often we see these extremely fearful patients and it’s important to me that they understand we are here to provide them with exceptional work and genuinely suit their comfort needs.
Why do you like this practice and coming to work every day?: It’s a good feeling when you wake up excited to go into work every day. Everyone I work here with is uplifting and supportive of each other. It’s fun and energetic all while maintaining a calming feeling.
